The effect of aging temperature and aging duration on the dry sliding wear behavior of Ti6Al4V alloy

In this study, Ti6Al4V (Grade 5) alloys were first dissoluted at 850?C for 120 min. and then aged 250?C, 350?C, 450?C, 550?C, 650?C 750?C respectively. After each aging duration (by looking hardness ratios between 9 to 54 hours), the of samples was measured. Depending on temperature time increase, increased upon formation ?' phases. phases, started decrease. The highest value measured in sample 450?C 24 hours. wear behavior untreated investigated through a detailed pin-on-disc test. effect volume loss, specific rate, coefficient friction examined. Metallographic analyses performed before after tests. Both abrasive adhesive formations observed FESEM-EDS images worn surfaces. When results evaluated, it that good obtained
